In this bicentennial year of the War of 1812, Fort York National Historic Site in Toronto will commemorate the 199th anniversary of the Battle of York with a series of family events from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 29.

The Bloorcourt BIA is hosting a community meeting about streetscape and development planning for the Bloorcourt and Bloordale commercial strips.
On Saturday April 28 10:30am-4pm, I am co-hosting the West End Community Power Initiative with the greenTbiz program of the Toronto Association of Business Improvement Areas (TABIA) and the Koreatown, Bloorcourt and Annex BIAs. 
This is a free event to be held at the Bickford Centre at Christie and Bloor (map), that will explore how local residents, businesses and organizations can find opportunities to power their communities more sustainably. You will have the chance to learn about rooftop solar projects, geothermal installations and community based bulk purchasing for homeowners and small businesses. There will also be some interesting outdoor exhibitors.
