First of all – thank you. Thank you to all Torontonians who showed such an outpouring of love and support. Thank you to my colleagues on council, to our city staff and to my staff, who worked late and volunteered their time to ensure his memorial was so special. Thank you also Mayor Ford, for making certain the doors of City Hall were open to all who wanted to pay their respects.

To my neighbours in Ward 19 and all the residents of Toronto, on behalf of my entire family, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

On Monday, September 19 the City of Toronto and the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) will begin construction work on Shaw Street between King Street West and Queen Street West.

The work will involve reconstruction of TTC streetcar track, roadway resurfacing, localized roadway reconstruction and localized sidewalk repairs

The City is beginning a review of its Official Plan as well as undertaking a Municipal Comprehensive Review under the Provincial Growth Plan that looks specifically at designated areas of employment in the Official Plan. Both Reviews will focus on how and where Toronto will grow.

The City’s Transportation Services Division is proposing amendments to Chapter 743 (“Streets and Sidewalks, Use of”) of the City of Toronto Municipal Code that will consolidate about 30 different sets of existing legislation regulating the use of our City’s streets into one comprehensive City-wide by-law. The City needs your input on this project.
