Herrick Street between Palmerston Avenue and Euclid Avenue (site is in the general vicinity of Bathurst Street south of Bloor Street West)
Councillor Mike Layton will join community representatives to unveil a street sign naming a laneway after the late Angelo Scarfo, a well known and respected member of the community for more than five decades.
The late Angelo Scarfo immigrated to Canada in the 1950s and raised a family of nine children from the same address at 609 Euclid Avenue for 48 years. For more than five decades, Mr. Scarfo was an active and cherished part of this neighbourhood, well-known and well-respected.
Mr. Scarfo instilled in his family an understanding of a great city’s foundations: neighbourhoods. Their steadfast presence on Euclid has been like an anchor for more than one generation and created a special place for new generations to move into; a place where they can make their own contributions by raising a family, starting a small business, or cultivating a new garden.
Toronto is a great City because of neighbourhoods built by people like Mr. Angelo Scarfo. Please join the family, friends & neighbours at this ceremony.
