On December 15, 2011 I will be holding a budget town hall to discuss the City of Toronto’s Capital and Operating budgets. The budgets come out on Monday November 28, 2011 and will be debated at Council on January 17, 2012.

The City of Toronto’s budget is responsible for many of the programs and public services we love and depend on. The 2012 Budget will be of particular importance to us since it follows the Mayor’s Core Service Review. The results of that exercise mean that throughout the 2012 Budget, Councillors will be faced with numerous proposals to drastically cut funding for vital city services. Such cuts will affect you, your family and our community.

The public has an opportunity to speak formally to members of the Budget Committee on December 7. See my previous post that includes meeting dates as well as instructions on how to submit communications and sign up to speak to the budget committee: http://mikelayton.ca/2012-budget-how-to-have-your-say.
